Last Garden Walk of 2015—Four Closeups, Two Long Views

November 28, 2015

The first long view is of the Back Pond, which you’ll see more of tomorrow. The second long view is looking upriver from my favorite spot. Is it any wonder I linger here so often? The trees with white trunks are on a small island that briefly splits the river in two. Most summers, I get to walk in the river past the left bank of the island, but not this summer, which was taken up with household downsizing instead of photographing.

    • Yes, everyone needs a back pond. This one is unusual for being dug at the edge of the embankment to the river. It’s also unusual in the area for having black water (full of tannins). Thanks for writing, Barry.

  2. These are all excellent but I really love the leaf in the log shot.

    • Thank you, Ken. The leaf in the log was one of those things that call out to you when you aren’t expecting to be called.

    • The second one simply spoke to me and I answered. The first one, however, took many shots and attempts at many different crops to make work. Glad you like the final decision, Leslie.

  4. Stunning pictures, Linda. I like the variety, and your comment above about the first two. But the fifth! Mmmm
