In Mr. Schoepfle’s Garden, April 2016—1

May 8, 2016

I had gone to Schoepfle Garden April 17 to see the gardens and the river. It was while walking up from the flood plain to go home that I spied the dumpster across the street. Since I still had some postings to go in the dumpster series that started when I was in Sarasota, I inserted Ohio’s Dumpster Goes for the Gold photographs before Florida’s The One That Got Away. Now for some Ohio nature photographs, taken at Schoepfle in the hours before I encountered the Ohio dumpster. This first one shows only a few of the many Spring Beauties (Claytonia virginica) at Schoepfle and all around this area. Many are still blooming.

  1. A beautiful green carpet and the the shadow lines that appear to radiate out are a delightful addition.

    • Thanks for your comment, Andy. Yes, isn’t it interesting how the shadow lines appear to radiate. Really, it’s the branches coming off the trunk of the tree.

  2. I love that flower – my mother always looked for it – and you have a perfect angle here, made more interesting by the long shadows.

    • Thank you, Lynn. I always have to remind myself to crouch down. I wish it came more instinctively, but I guess I won’t complain in ernest.
