Wondering what a standpipe is?

This looks so much the better with its battered peeling paint. Looks like it was a long time since this standpipe was last used

I guess that would be a good thing, considering that standpipes are brought into service when there’s a fire in the building. Glad you like the peeling paint, Andy. I do, too.
