  1. Not to reveal my age or anything, but this image reminded me of keypunch cards from FORTRAN class in college. It’s not a happy memory, but I like the photo anyway…!

    • I remember fellow college students walking around with a bundle of keypunch cards held together with rubber bands, so I see the similarity, too. I never learned Fortran myself, however.Glad you like the photo, Melinda!

  2. I took Fortran too! Don’t ask me to write anything in it today, though.

  3. Amazing photo! The people look like little ants in the windows, so tiny. Fascination to see just a little portion.

    • Thanks, Jane. My first view of the ship was at night, when it was lit up by spotlights. It was an illustration of the word “looming” (but in a good way). So dramatic, so huge, so beautiful. I imagined Fred Astaire dancing out to greet us. Later, touring the boat, I learned that Fred Astaire did travel on the Queen Mary, but may not have danced aboard.

Kinda cool how randomness and regularity go together so well at times.
